Coach Vessell is in his first year at Crowder College where he coaches the Roughrider pitching staff and participates in recruiting and many other aspects of baseball operations.  Before joining Crowder, he spent 2 years at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith where he served as the pitching coach, recruiting coordinator, and academic advisor.  Prior to his stint at Fort Smith, Coach Vessell was the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at NCAA Division II Henderson State University.


In his last 6 seasons at Henderson State (Gulf South Conference), they posted a 34-16 win/loss mark and set the school record for wins in a season, as well as being ranked as high as #7 in the country.  During his six seasons, Coach Vessell coached 21 all-conference players, 5 all-region players, and 3 All-Americans as well as one player being drafted in the 26th round by the Kansas City Royals.


During the summer of 2011, Coach Vessell was assistant coach of the Edenton Steamers of Coastal Plain League.  They had a 49-14 record and held #1 ranking in the country for 5 weeks where they lead the league in pitching with a ERA of 2.84.


Coach Vessell is a 1999 graduate of Russellville High School, where he was a 3-sport athlete earning all-state honors in baseball as a junior and senior.  He played for 4 seasons at NCAA Division II Arkansas Tech University.  The former pitcher helped lead the Wonder Boys to a runner-up finish in the Gulf South Conference in 2001 and holds the Wonder Boys’ record for most appearances during a career with 63 showings.


Coach Vessell is single and resides in Neosho, MO.

Coach Deao is in his first year at Fort Scott Community College. Coach Deao will be working with outfielders and hitters. He began his collegiate career at Neosho County Community College where in his sophomore season he had 15 outfield assists (a NCCC school record) and was named 1st Team All-Conference, Region VI Defense Player of the Year, finalist for National Defensive Player of the Year and Rawlings National Gold Glove winner.


Coach Deao continued his career at Missouri Southern State University where he was team captain and started in right field both his junior and senior years. He was named MIAA All-Conference his senior year where he led the Lions with 8 outfield assists, 15 doubles and tied for team lead in home runs and hits. He was awarded the MSSU Warren Turner Team MVP. He finished his college career with 35 outfield assists.
