The Joplin OUTLAWS are members of the M.I.N.K. League (Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas).
The M.I.N.K. League is an organization of collegiate baseball teams who devote their summer to learning, promoting, and, most of all, PLAYING baseball. The League began in 1910 with 6 charter teams. Today, the M.I.N.K. League is composed of 10 teams who are divided into a North and South division.
2009 was the “inaugural” year for the Joplin OUTLAWS.
The organization originated with a dedicated group of host families who showed enormous effort to house and entertain previous players in Joplin. After establishing a new Board of Directors, a plan for development was hatched for a new team to represent the Joplin area. Coaches and players were recruited from around the area. All home games were played at the new Joplin Athletic Complex with an enthusiastic crowd always on hand. Despite not making the playoffs in the first year, the excitement of watching the team play and grow as an organization was wonderful. As we enter our second season our hope is that more fans will follow and cheer on their home team....
